A cost-shift is just another name for a tax hike! I just learned that the Senate and House have both advanced legislation to shift the financial burden for moving power lines from utilities to local taxpayers.

That’s simply not fair to local taxpayers.

Utilities that reap the financial rewards from the placement of power lines should be responsible for moving them—not local taxpayers. If you increase the burden on local governments, you’re simply increasing the burden on local taxpayers, too!

You’re my representative in Tallahassee and I’m asking you to please do everything in your power to prevent this cost-shift to local communities.
